About your Speaker

William Attoh

After graduating top of his class with Honours, despite working full time whilst studying full time, William Attoh worked under some of the most astute Judges in Australia, as Researcher to the NSW Court of Appeal.

Before starting his own practice, Will also worked for the likes of Australian Business Lawyers, Law Access NSW, Michael Vassili Barristers & Solicitors and Maddocks.

Always looking to give back, Will supports various worthy charities, including the Anne Frank Exhibition Australia, which he helped to set up.

When not grounded in the aspirational pursuit of justice for clients, doing charitable deeds or lifesaving at the beach, Will may be seen flying the Victor 1 Coastal around greater Sydney, and beyond, as the “weekend warrior pilot” (he once feared commercially).

Gavin Adkins

“I take an active interest in my clients’ business so I can really understand what they want to achieve with their IP, and help them to succeed.”

With experience as a prosecuting patent attorney and a technical background in chemistry, Gavin’s practice now centres around IP litigation and commercial legal advice. Gavin’s aim is to come to grips with the technology, commercial landscape and legal challenges quickly and move on to providing pragmatic and candid advice.

In his previous roles and during his time at Griffith Hack he has assisted clients with litigation raising issues in patents, designs, trade marks, the Australian Consumer Law, contractual disputes, domain names and copyright infringement.

Gavin has been published in leading industry journals, written chapters in IP reference texts and received university prizes for his academic performance.
However, Gavin is most satisfied when he’s helped a client achieve a great result. “It’s really satisfying helping clients work through tough situations to achieve a commercial result.”
