About your Speakers: Dr. Michelle Sharpe (Barrister) & Bronwyn Pott (Business Strategy Consultant)
Dr. Michelle Sharpe
Dr. Michelle R. Sharpe practices primarily in the areas of general commercial and contract law, passing off and trade practices and consumer protection. She brings significant experience in regulatory frameworks and is experienced in the areas of owner’s corporations, franchising, retail, residential leases, tax, and information technology. She regularly appears in all jurisdictions, including VCAT. Michelle is highly experienced in matters involving breaches of consumer protection law, having acted for (and against) State and Federal agencies. She has written and contributed to papers and publications on trade practices – particularly in the area of unconscionable conduct.
Bronwyn Pott
Bronwyn is the spokesperson for CPD for Me and host of CPD-LIVE 2021 who has spent the past 30+ years working in management and leadership roles in professional services (predominately law firms).
She was a founding member of the Australian Legal Practice Management Association (ALPMA), and was national president for three years 2007-2010. She was also a founding executive member of the Australian Legal Sector Alliance (AustLSA), an association that works collaboratively across the legal profession to promote sustainable practices.
Bronwyn was instrumental in the establishment of a national qualification in Legal Practice Management and in 2010 was named the inaugural Industry ‘Icon’ for her contribution to Legal Management. She currently sits on the advisory board for the College of Law’s Master of Legal Business and has recently been seconded to the board of CLEAA (Continuing Legal Education Australia).
In addition, Bronwyn holds has held a number of private and unlisted public company directorships.
After holding a number of senior leadership and management roles, she is currently assisting the Principals and leader of small and medium Firms make the most of their resources and the current business environment. Her consulting regularly covers areas she is passionate about including innovation, employee engagement, succession, lateral selection and integration, best practice operations and financial hygiene.
